What is it: Radio Frequency (RF) is a form of Electromagnetic Energy and has been safely used in the medical field for many years. Its use has now expanded into cosmetic procedures where it is used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, as well as for toning and tightening the skin.
How it works: the RF waves pass through the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) via a handheld head piece and takes effect on the collagen-rich layer underneath (dermis). Thermal energy is produced and the heating of the dermis results in; Skin Tightening: achieved by the effect of the heat on the collagen fibers causing them to shrink into a more compact form. Skin Rejuvenation: the heating of the dermis causes new collagen to be laid down with its growth taking 3-6 months to be visible. Improved Skin Health: heating of the dermis layer causes increased blood and lymph flow.
What areas can be treated: Main treatment areas include; Forehead, Crows Feet, Under Eyes, Mouth, Jawline and Cheeks, Tummy, Thighs, Buttocks and Upper Arms. One average allow 20-40mins for your treatment with additional time required at your initial treatment for a consultation. During your treatment you may experience some sensations of warmth depending on the area being treated.
How many treatments are required: we highly recommend having an initial course of six treatments, spaced 10-15 days apart. Depending on your skin and your age, some clients see results even after one treatment while others require one or more courses to maximize longevity of the procedure. Following the initial course of treatments, maintenance treatments are recommended to be conducted 2 monthly, 6 monthly or yearly depending on your skin, the area being treated and your desired achievement.
